Due to the fact we haven't been able to fly due to the thick smoke, we still try to run the engines on our airplanes once a week to keep everything lubed and working well. A few weeks ago we took the airplanes about a mile upstream from our hangar along with the speed boat in order to have our weekly prayer and worship meeting. These are the ways we try to make lemonade from lemons and it's always fun to do different things as a team.
We also took the opportunity to give our speedboat a little washing. After sitting in the gross, low water conditions of the river, the hull was in need of a scrubbing.
It didn't take long for the seriousness of work to be overcome with play. Soon after starting, buckets of water were flying everywhere and our guys were having a great time "washing the boat."
Finally, we gathered on the beach for a time of prayer and worship. It's always a great time during our week to take an hour out of our day and spend it with worship and prayer together. You know what they say, "a family that prays and plays together...stays together." This holds true at our workplace as well. We have a wonderful team of dedicated, Jesus loving men, and it's a privilege to serve with them in Central Borneo.

Hi Sean,
Are you guys flying yet? How is everything going? We haven't heard from either of your blogs in quite a while wondered if everything is ok?
Hi Ted! Yes..."we" are flying. It was a tough smoke season but we have been flying again for about the last 3 weeks. I, however, have NOT been flying. Long story, but my permission to work in Indonesia is still in process at a high government level and I haven't obtained that yet. In the next week, if things don't change, we will have to temporarily shut flight ops down for the foreseeable future because I won't have any pilots left due to vacations, holidays etc until early next year. I'm still plenty busy doing a myriad of other things as we prep for the new airplane and install a new engine on one of our Cessna 185's, but, no flying at the present time for me. It's a complex situation and thankfully we have wonderful and capable people trying to get me, and several others, permission to get flying again. Thanks for checking in...blessings. Sean
Hi Sean. I was just wondering if you guys were going to continue your blogs?
Thanks,
Ted Griffith
Hi again Ted! Yes...I will be resuming my blog; hopefully soon. I've been so busy I haven't had time or energy to devote to it. Primarily, I haven't been flying either...I do not have a work permit yet, so please pray that this will be cleared up soon. Since I can't legally work, I have been intentional of not putting much on the web about what I have, or haven't been up to.
