Not only was it difficult docking the airplane at the interior village above, but getting the patient from the river bank to the airplane was a challenge as well. I'm continually amazed at what a typical patient goes through just to get to our airplane in order to be medivac'ed. But, the alternative is even more grave as there usually isn't one.
